Pudina Rice

Pudina is a commonly found herb in Indian cooking. While you can buy it under this name, Pudina is simply mint. This is an herb that helps to improve digestion and can help to freshen your breath. Because of the health benefits, it is no surprise that a delicious meal can be used to ensure that your day kicks off well. What follows is a look at a great dish.

Ingredients

2 cups rice

1 diced onion

1 diced tomato

½ cup chopped mint leaves

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

2 diced green chilies

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup Ghee

Preparation:

You will need to soak your rice in advance for about 20 minutes.

During this time, you can mash your mint with the green chilies.

You will then add the rice to a rice cooker and allow it to begin cooking.

In a separate pan, you will take your Ghee and add in your salt and chili powder and heat it up.

Then take your cinnamon, ginger and garlic and blend them in. Heat this mixture for three minutes and then add in the onion and tomato and cook until they have softened.

Now, add in the rest of the items and keep them warm until the rice is ready.

Then stir the mixture into the rice and serve it hot.

You can add a little Raita to add to the flavor of the dish
